Dr Wan Zafidah who is better known as Dr Idah, has qualified from the University of Dublin (Trinity College) in 1997. She starts working as a medical officer in the same year. In 2005, she concluded her postgraduate training (Master) in Psychiatry from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia.
 
Dr Idah’s special interest in Rehabilitation Psychiatry as well as Early Intervention Psychosis and Stress Management. Her main concern is the recovery in her clients, as well as ensuring them to return and contribute back to the community.
 
Her energetic but calming, motherly demeanor puts her clients at ease. She believes in providing and allowing them to ask questions regarding their health and treatment plan, this will ensure a therapeutic alliance between consultant and patient are at their best.
 
She received praise from many parties, such as patients, carers and administrators on her approachable nature. She enjoys collaboration with others and has no problem with asking assistance and referring patients to consult. 
 
Dr Idah’s extensive clinical experience in psychiatry did not stop her from learning beyond the clinical field. In 2015, she enrolled in the WHO’s QualityRights program in Italy. The training is to ensure her practice is within the patients’ right, thus to ensure the recovery is permissible.
 
Despite her busy schedule, she was appointed as a lecturer in many universities, in which she was students’ supervisor or examiner. She also received an invitation as a speaker to many institutions, such as schools, town hall, private companies and many others.
 
She is looking forward to work in a multi-disciplinary team, such as allied health staff, welfare department and NGOs to ensure all her clients need are well covered.
